Weather!!!

Post by Saffy »

I'm wondering how everyone else is coping with this weather?

Torrential rain and wind here in South Wales, lots of flooding, very difficult to get anywhere by car. Fields are a quagmire! I have a few cattle out in a couple of batches, mostly bulls with a cow or two and have been feeding them hay on the ground, until now I've been putting it in a grassy corner and suddenly it is just mud everywhere...dreadful. I feel sorry for them at the moment.

At least I can get to all mine to feed them and make sure they are OK.

Pretty horrible here - the cows are still out, being fed hay on the ground but the steers and followers are in now, not that it makes much difference to them, as the rain is coming into the shed horizontally. A lot of work to get bales and sheep moved before the cows can come in, not being helped by the weather. Thankfully nothing like as bad as this time last year though, and not as bad as you guys further south, by the looks of it.

Looks like most of Scotland will get a battering and some snow tomorrow. We are expecting our main ferry may not run at all all day, will need to wait and see. There will be snow with it too. Family supposed to come tomorrow from Glasgow, will most likely need to come by Colintraive at the North end of Bute, having driven up Lochlomond side and then negotiating the "Rest And Be Thankful" if there are no more landslips there. I do not think I can remember a month with so much severe wind as we are having.
