Having purchased straws at the sale I have spent this week trying to organise their transfer. One would imagine that this would be done by the auction house ( ) but not a bit of it. Fortunately for me, the straws are already in my flask but it isn't over yet. There are four parties involved - purchaser, vendor, auction house and Genus each with their own separate contractual obligations.
It did say in the catalogue that the purchaser was responsible for handling/transfer fees but not that they would have to take a leading role in organising it. Hopefully, it will all turn out OK but if you are in a similar situation then you may need to be proactive in actually getting the straws that you have paid for.
Light is now at the end of the tunnel for me at least having finally spoken to the admin lady at Genus Carmarthen. You will need her private number which I will lodge with Melton Mowbray market and the Dexter Cattle Society office.
