Dexter Cattle For Sale Discussion Board

Does anyone know the whereabouts of any black Woodmagic semen? I know the DCS have some but I understand that it is for either 'specialist breeding projects' or 'future research and heritage purposes'. There doesn't seem to be a definition as to what qualifies under either of these terms though.

I tried to find some had no joy tried to get some other semen from DCS no joy, and they could not tell me what the criteria was to get any semen from there long term bank think I had the wrong criteria

When Melton sale info comes out there is some rare semen for sale by auction, here may be your chance to buy some, dont think woodmagic is on the list.

I was looking for some Woodmagic semen years ago and there was none about and have considered putting Woodmagic Hedgehog 4th for AI but whilst I know there are people that would want some straws - as I have been asked, I do wonder if there would be sufficient uptake to make it worthwhile in the long run.

can I just ask what bulls do you call rare and how much do you think the semen will go for.
I have just used some 30 year semen on a Simmental she was due to bull yesterday so fingers crossed she held last time.
