Heifer or cow

Hi can any body help, a mate of mine would like to know at what point does a Heifer become a cow when showing.

In Australia our classes are normally set out by date of birth of the heifer/cow. It does depend on the individual show society as to the cut off dates for junior and senior cow/heifer. Most times it works out that a heifer has not calved (less than 2 years) and a cow has a calf at foot.

A Heifer becomes a cow when she has given birth to her second calf. (Including any born dead).
Always check in the show Schedule rules as some shows have differant definitions.
Another definition that often comes up in showing is Maiden heifer. This is a heifer that is unserved (a virgin)
