We have a few steers ready for market, these are our first to be ready having starting keeping Dexters 2 years ago. Has anyone got any ideas where we could send them ? Have also got quite a number of steers around 15 months.

It very much depends on where you are, if you give a location you may get more suggestions or even offers. 3 15 month long legged steers made average of £410 at Carlisle on Saturday, in very good order, weights 250 to 300 kg

DON'T send to market, you'll probably get peanuts. I would suggest you need to phone around local butchers and also Traditional & Rare Breed Butchers, which you should find on the TBMM website. Note you may need to book some time in advance and some still only go up to 30 months.

There is also the Dexter Cattle Society Beef Club. I think they take finished cattle don't they .. someone?

With the ones that are 15 months, are you saying you want to sell them now, or are you taking them on to finish? I do know someone who is looking for a couple of steers at exactly that age. PM me your details if you want me to pass them onto to that person. They are in Staffs as it happens and I can't suppply.
