Exporting Livestock

Has anyone on here any experience of exporting livestock to an EU country please or can recommend a livestock haulier who does?

This man is a bit far from you but may be able to help. He took two of mine to Germany in 2009, and I spoke to him recently about possibility of Scandinavian moves.

Most of the Defra and foreign gov requirements can be seen on the Defra website.

I plan to send a Dexter bull to Ireland next week. The haulier is based in Ireland but picks up and delivers cattle in UK and Europe on a weekly basis. M.D. Workman Ltd, Monaghan, Ireland

I haven't done it but nearly did and was told this company was one of the best http://www.gilderstransport.com/. They would not just transport but guide the whole process and do or advise on the paperwork. And they could hold stock for a short while if they were coming from different farms, to make up a load. They had various sizes of lorries when I enquired, and the smaller they were, the more expensive per animal.
