Dexter Cattle For Sale Discussion Board

I may get slapped wrists for this, in which case I apologise in advance, but......I have been watching the Dun Bull section on the For Sale section of the site and haven't seen anything for a long time so my thinking is that people may not look there.
Please do - there will be something there very shortly as we sent the add in today!

funnnily enough I looked on there yesterday that and the red bulls not that i need a bull at mo but normally i look on the cattle for sale in last 7 days which is probably what most people do unless you want a particular animal. And as Mark says nothing wrong with a bit of advertising I'm sure he will get alot more viewings now - looking forward to seeing his pics as duns are my favourites may even be tempted !!!

Well he is very handsome, sired by Woodmagic Hedgehog 4th out of Laymore Bracken who is such a gentle thing and whose temperament he has inherited. I'll try to wrestle with photbucket and get some other photos up as well - as long as Mark is OK with that?

I hope nobody minds me pointing out that his dad is alive and kicking - not sure if that was what you meant, he is fit and well and only 4 years old. Looks like he is chunky like his dad! And yes his dad is a small non short.

No, he's all natural - there's no corn in him at all as ours are just grass fed. He has been having some suckler cow rolls every day (about two handsfull) following Beryl's strict instructions - but that's for minerals. They have been given two slices (from a big bale) of haylage once a day to share between one incalf heifer, one incalf cow and him. All the rest he is getting from the grass which is permanent pasture rather than a pupose sown ley.

I don't have a height measurement for him but will try to get one as best I can this evening.

Just to let you know that he was sold today.
He has been amazingly calm during the pre-movement tests this week, standing calmly in the crush for the first time on Wednesday (when the vet gave him a full check up as well) and again yesterday morning.
We separated him away from his dam about half an hour before the chap came to collect him and he stood quietly looking about, eating some haylage - no yelling and shouting or throwing himself about. When the time came he just walked straight up the ramp and into the trailer.
Very much the same temperament as his mother.
He has gone to a herd of 8 Dun Dexters in the Kidderminster area.
