Thank You - Red Kernow Dexter Herd Now Sold

Hi I firstly I want to thank all of the lovely Dexter Breeders that have shown an interest in my herd. Due to family circumstances I could no longer give the time required for my lovely herd and decided it was time to let someone else enjoy them
I took great care when looking for my stock and if Linear testing had been introduced 4 years ago it would have made life so much easier. Although I will no longer have my Dexters I want to thank everyone involved in helping me find such special cows and my bull. I have also had moments when a telephone call to a Field Advisor was all that was needed and I am very grateful for this too. In addition thank you to Mark for helping me with the advertising of my stock and to Sue at HQ for listening to my endless questions, queries and the sharing of listen to what just happened ...
I am sure Philippa will remember when I got the trailer stuck at the end of her lane and tried to reverse the trailer putting it in the ditch with her bull inside! and the day that Mike and Denise visited to look at my herd and the stable door nearly took my head off!
Looking back I was so proud of my first Dexters and I was determined to have a outstanding herd. Firstly I decided to have them all Chondrodysplasia Tested (even my non shorts as after discussing gynetics for days on end I wanted to be sure any future stock was free of this hereditory condition) I then ensured that my Bull was parent verified and arranged for my whole herd to be Linear Assessed. The process was easy and gave me a really good insight into the quality of my stock. Being able to look at the bulls assessment against my cows gave me some reassurance concerning my future breeding. I was so excited about the results I posted on here and basically told anyone that would listen LOL.
When I made the desicion to sell it was a sad day but every time someone enquired about my herd I took great joy in emailing the Linear assessments to them. My herd is now sold and they are going to a lovely home where any hard work as a novice breeder will be continued. I have no doubt that Linear Assessment made a huge difference to the market value of my herd and I feel I have done my part in ensuring that their future breeding will be based on the fact that they were assessed as 'good examples of the breed'
Its a really sad farewell but I wanted to wish all Dexter breeders the very best for the future and to say goodbye and thank you
Best wishes
