Classification here is run through HFAA (holsteins).

Our rules include:-
4. To obtain EX a cow must have had at least three (3) normal calvings
To obtain EX a bull must have at least 5 female progeny linear classified at VG

Is that also the case with the UK bulls listed as EX above?

Hi Margaret, here in the UK we have not yet achieved an EX cow, with the scoring system we use it would have to be an exceptional animal that scores EX as a 1st or 2nd calver, in fact i would not expect to see one like that for a good few years.
The bulls at EX are scored independent from thier progeney, but the way you do it may be a good idea. It is early days for us over here so the system will no doubt need some tweeking as we get deeper into it. Obviously as we progress any of the bulls female progeny scores .can be seen when they have been classified which in turn will give it's own stats for the bull.
Thanks for your input.
