Found an IAE yearling crush for sale on ebay, located near Leominster if anyone is looking for one.

I missed this one, but I am looking for an IAE yearling crush. (After a long and futile attempt to secure a 12' calving gate from Ireland.) Just looking for some advice on price. I've been quoted 825 + VAT straight off with no haggling/sob story by my local supplier in Inverness for a new galvanised one, and wondered if that's reasonable? Thanks.

I think the price is about right given how things have gone up. We purchased ours about seven years ago now and it cost us £775. Our cows are halter trained and really quiet but I wouldn't be without it especially for foot-trimming and replacing lost tags.

Sounds OK to me too. We paid £725 for an IAE Warrior crush which good for Dexters, slightly narrower etc. That was 7 years ago. It has opening sides which I wouldn't be without when you occasionally get a calf that won't suckle.

Thanks for those replies - reassuring to hear. Once I've recovered from the cost, I'm looking forward to the extra functionality and safety of proper crush, and hopefully the appreciation of my vet (TB and BVD testing behind a gate with a halter was not a stress-free experience).

I've just been comparing the two & discovered that the removeable access panels are no longer a feature on the Warrior - I imagine that's because too many people were buying the Warrior, rather than going for a more expensive crush...

I'm looking for a crush too and was very interested in your £750 + VAT delivered price Rob. The cheapest I've found is £850 + VAT can you say who the supplier is as we don't live a million miles away from you in Huddersfield. Thanks Suzie

Yes, it's Pearsons at Skipton (http://www.pearsonsfarmsupplies.co.uk/) Unfortunately I haven't had the spare cash to order one yet.

I've just heard that all IAE stuff has just gone up by 4%, so the new price will more than likely apply to anything that dealers have to order direct, might get in stock things for the old price, but maybe not...

There's a second hand Yearling crush on ebay at the moment. That's the good news, the bad new is that it's on the Llyen peninsula and it's as new price.
