transporting horned cattle

It was obvious that some of the cattle sold at York had been bought by dealers and one thing that really annoyed me was that when leaving the mart (because some of the parking was at the back of the mart this year the quickest way out was to go past the pens) and one pen was full of dexters of all sizes horned and dehorned cattle and the horned ones were using their horns on the dehorned ones. Now correct me if I am wrong but I believe it is against the law to transport horned & non horned cattle together unless they are pen separately so I would have thought this would apply in the mart. I did go and complain to two of the mart's workers who agreed with me, but did not do anything about it. I do not know who had brought these particular cattle but if the people who sold them do look on this board. Please consider taking the horns of your calves in future as it is very distressing to see an animal subjected to being bulled by a horned animal with no way of getting out of the situation.
I am going to complain to the auctioneers on monday but with hind site I should have taken the animals numbers so that they could have made sure it did not happen again. Next time I will, if I see this happen again.
