We went to Oxford County and Thame Show yesterday, it was the first year that they have held Dexter classes. Unfortunately there were only three exhibitors, can anyone who lives nearby or would like to come along next year make a note in their diary for 2012. Good cattle stalls, plenty of room for your showing equipment etc and a free stockmans breakfast ticket. Entry fees £17 for non members and prize money of £40 for first prize. My daughter was even interviewed for BBC Radio Oxford!

We were keen to enter this show last year, but the rules stated that cattle had to have been TB tested within 60 days of the show, so we didn't go. Presumably this show is in a 4 year testing area? We did enquire but did not receive an answer. The 60 day ruling will limit the no. of entries forward, as it is already expensive enough to go showing, without extra TB testing costs.

We are in a 4 yearly testing area ourselves, didn't realise that those from a different area would have to be tested but obvious really I suppose. It does limit the shows that you can go to if the cost of TB testing is included. Still a nice show and day out for those that can come along and show.
