We have developed a programm to calculate the expected coat color from progeny.

GO TO THE CALCULATOR

simply select the color of the male: black, red or dun
same for the female. Then press calculate. The programm will give you the % from each color you can expect.

In the programm calculates with non-shorts. When you want to use a short-legged, choose "SL"

for bulls or cows with a hidden red gene, choose "RF" (red factor)
for bulls or cows with a hidden dun gene, choose "DF" (dun factor)

if there are question, just ask

Question: How does being a short or non-short affect the colour?

It doesn't affect the colour, but it has affect on the progeny.
Try and see, when you mate 2 shorts you get 1/4 dead calves (bulldogs).

The same with Polled, but I haven't made that available for every colour, the list to choose from would be twice as long.

When you click on advantage (at the right) you can choose every genotype you wish!!
