This communication has come from the DCS office:-

Mr David Key (retired DCS Breed Secretary) sadly passed away on Saturday 26th February 2011.
The Funeral has been arranged for Monday 7th March 2011 at Narberth Crematorium,
Pembrokeshire SA67 8UD

Personally i have never met David Key.The stories i have heard suggest he very nearly single handed kept
the DCS going during the dark days when the DCS was suffering from extremely low cattle numbers and hence financial restraint.
I think maybe we all owe him a debt of gratitude.

That is very sad news.
Mr Key put in many years of hard work to the society, as did his wife and son. He was a true gentleman, with a computer like memory of animal pedigrees. He was very interesting to talk to and so knowledgeable about the Dexter, a very well respected judge and breeder.
I remember an AGM 20 or so years ago when the entire floor of about 80 members gave him a standing Ovation in support of his work to the Society. The Dexter Society owe Mr Key a great deal.
Thoughts to his wife Pam and son Robert.
