Found the following on western towings website regarding new 50mm towballs, new trailers needing type approval, and vosa showing more interest in tachographs and trailers.

I am very surprised by this post, I did not think all the regulations could be put on one full page - unless of course the print is very very small.

Sadly I think the current regulations make it very near impossible for those of us who wish to use a trailer over more than very short distance to remain on the right side of the law.
