Hello all
My red cow calved last week. She was 6 months later than usual due to unforeseen circumstances. Her previous calf is still here and suckled her up to about July. The day she calved and prior to calving I spotted her 18 month old daughter sucking her. I separated them. Do you think I ought to put an anti sucking device on her nose to allow them together again?
As an extra query the now 18mo heifer was bulled at 10 months but i gave her the injection at the correct time. she has never been bulling since and if in calf due in 2 weeks but I cannot tell. Has anyone had their heifers injected and found it stopped them cycling or is it more likely that she is going to calve?

I would unless I could keep them separate.
