Hi all, just thought i would post a notice of intent. This weekend we are going to upgrade the sales side of the site to make it faster to upload the info by myself and also easier to search for the cattle.
The problem will probably only hit the people that are sending in cattle to advertise, there may be a delay, or some may get lost in the process. Not sure how long the job will take but hopefully it will be for the benefit of everyone.
Please bear with me, as they say, i am sure it will be ok in the end.
If anyone has any sensible ideas then email me or tag onto this thread with a comment

Hi All

I have made the updated 'Cattle for Sale' section live...

The process behind adding the animals onto the site has been changed, allowing a few additional features to be installed. The more popular choice with regular visitors will no doubt be the facility to see recently added animals, so no more searching every category for updates; it’s all there with one click.

The animals still have to be manually transferred across to this system by Mark, so credit still needs to go to him for his continued commitment.

In addition to the upgrades, a ‘Bulls for Hire’ section has been added. If you wish to include your animals in the section, use the usual submission form, but be sure to select ‘Bulls for Hire’ from the drop down list under Sex.
There may be slight issues with photos, links, areas etc not working, so I would really appricate it if you could email with anything that you spot out of place.

Just a few notes:
- Entries will now be automatically removed after roughly 120 days. To renew your advert, send an email to info@dextercattleforsale.co.uk remembering to include the animal name. This will then be renewed for a further 120 days, or until notified as sold.
- Do your best to include a photo with the listing, it really helps sell animals quickly
- Please be sure to let us know once an animal is sold, it helps keep the site fresh
There are currently known issues with the Map and the Photo sections.
Enjoy!

The new Cattle for Sale section looks really good. Hopefully it will also encourage more photos.
