:;): just had to share my rewarding day with you all, weve been having trouble with a bull calf getting him halter trained but today he has been tied up , at last and then to top a good day off i went out to the field to feed the show cows and pointon tyson our bull and to my astonshment he wanted to have a fuss this is the first time in a field and off his halter that he came to me for a scratch and a cuddle which has made my day as i think alot of him and hope to show him this year, so im happy ! :D

Great to hear of other good days, I have had a good day too, herd tuberculin test with cows mostly outside, haltered in pen and tested, vaccinated for BVD, young stock blood sampled to make sure none are infected with BVD or PI before vaccination. Bulling heifers mostly in byre tied up at the moment so they were easy, and haltered two older bulls in pens, tested and vaccinated, all gone to plan for once.
Just a word of caution about cuddling bulls though, always best never to trust them as even the friendliest can have the most amazing mood changes and even a swing of the head can be dangerous. I am always astonished at the speed they can go at when they change from ambling along to full acceleration. Not all but a good proportion of accidents with bulls happen when the handler makes assumptions.
