We have just got back from the AGM, what an alround fantastic weekend.
Everything from the venue, lunch, evening entertainment, and trip to Beamish today was highly profesional, well organised and great fun.
The AGM itself was also properly buisness like and profesional.
Huge thanks and congratulations to Ian Emmerson, and everyone from the Northern group for making it such a great weekend.
It was nice to catch up with everyone Dexter and meet some new ones too. A noticeably warm and friendly atmosphere-just what it should be about!
Many Thanks Lisa and Philip Bell.
A.G.M - Fantastic!
Just to echo Lisa's comments and to thank everyone who came to the AGM this weekend and made the event such a success.
It really was a great atmosphere, super venue (thanks to Ian and his team), great entertainment on Saturday night, and a lovely day out in the sunshine on Sunday.
And thanks to everyone who brought cattle from across the north of England for the fantastic cattle displays. (Thanks to Veronica and Duncan for organising and judging the cattle height/weight competition!)
And if anyone wishes they'd bought a 'Dexters: Make Milk, Make Meat, Make Sense' AGM 2009 t-shirt, we still have a couple left so please let me know if you'd like one!
Best regards, and see you at the next one.

Yes what an enjoyable weekend we all had. Even the formal meeting was not too painful, and the other activities giving us a great opportunity to meet together socially. It was a lot of hard work on the part of all who organised it - I just turned up and enjoyed it, managing not to embarass myself in the height and weight competition neatly by measuring and putting the weighband round the animals concerned.
I did think that an experienced breeder like Lisa Bell would have entered the competition but did not see her name on any entry form. At least Philip did carry off a prize.
Some of us certainly let our hair down in the evening, I think the less hair we have the easier it is to let it down.
A special thank you to Steve Adcock for revealing my hiding place during the auction for the cattle show coats. Since another one sold for £100 I presume I will be able to sell the one I bought for a substantial profit, keep your eye on the for sale section. Mine doesn't fit me any better than Lisa's fitted her.
Full marks to the band for getting a substantial number of those present on the dancefloor all night, and most of us were able to walk round Beamish the next day.
I only had time for a little bit of Beamish, it would be an easy place to spend a whole day or more, there is so much to see.
Thanks too to those who took animals along, nice to see a good selection. Some nice bulls to see, and a good pen of heifers from our host Ian who I am sure, along with his family and helpers, must be very exhausted, but they should be very pleased as well as we all had such a good time.

As a footnote to my last post, I should say that I was of course more than happy to contribute to the Dogs For the Disabled, which is an excellent cause. I have known one or two dogs trained by them and they really do learn to do an amazing number of things for the owner. The last I heard the total raised was in the region of £300.

I too, would like to thank the Northern group for a great weekend. I would second everything Duncan & Lisa have said. The atmosphere was fanatastic, as was the food, & everyone was so friendly....... oh and the cattle were not bad too!! Thanks to everyone for all their efforts, definitely the best AGM I've ever attended.
