Does anyone have any recommendations for an electric mincer and a sausage maker?

Hi,
The domestic mincers seem to overheat really quiclky . I think you have to get a small commercial one if you intendin mincing any quantities and enen second hand they are not cheap.
The manual l one are slow but robust.
Domestic sausage fillers are available in most kitchen shops

It really does depend entirely upon how much sausage you are wanting to make. What sort of quantities are you looking at?

We had a butchershop in Western Australia for a while processing Dexter beef and I purchased our mincer and 5 kilo hand crank sausage maker from ebay. Buy the biggest mincer you can afford, that is the critical factor in making sausages. you can get some great recipes for sausages off the internet, be prepared for some shocks if you google sauage a few porn sights come up. :D

I bought an electric mincer from argos (approx £50).
It has a sausage making spout.
Works fine for chopping dexter beef, but just bungs up if you try a 2nd chop.
So ok for mince but havent tried it for saugages.

I got one from Nisbets, online catering suppliers. Mine is electric, goes slow but minces OK but you cant put it through twice. Cost me about £90. I am happy with it

have a look on the northern tool website, the one i have is rated at 118kg per hour and it is the dogs wotsits, think it was around 250ish and worth every penny its very heavy and probably weighs 30kg, it will do muncjac in minutes.

There's nothing like practical demonstrations of sausage-making if you want to get the hang of it. Here's a pic of the Midland Dexter Group doing a serious demonstration...sorry, couldn't resist it!
