Hi all

Could anyone tell me as this is my first time showing if entering cows in the show could anyone answer a few questions
Do we have to take straw and hay?
Do you need to take any pedigree certificates?
If you are entering incalf cows do you have to have them pd as proof that they are incalf?

I am only asking the last question because i bought a heifer that could be incalf and she hasn't come bulling but she hasn't been checked by the vet, normally i would assume she was incalf.

You will need to take your own feed (hay etc). I would also take staw unless the shedule specifically says that it is provided. and buckets for water.

You will also need the cattle passports.

Most shows probably only allow pedigree animals, but dont need to see the pedigree certificates.

You also wont need proof that the heifer is in calf, the class relates to the "condition" of most animals of that age when shown ie.

calf
Heafer under 18 month
Heafer in calf or in milk
cow in calf or in milk
dry cow

It can sometimes be difficult to select cattle to take as at some shows the classes and ages differ so cattle from one show may not have a class at another.

One point that we didnt know initially is that an animal cannot be in two classes, ie a female calf should not also be entered as a heifer under 18 month.

good look with your showing
