A month ago Cherry calved a nice bull calf, but looked as if she was having twins before and after. She seemed fine but whilst we were at bakewell she went down and the lady whom saw her just after she had died said she thought there was a calf,s head but no feet peeping through, she come from a farming background, i know back end,s can be messy when they die.But does anyone think it could have been possible i thought it would,ve been decomposed. I will never know but just thought it might have happened with someone else. thanx jean jordeth :)

I've heard sheep can have two separate pregnancies and have a lamb weeks after another, and by another tup, but don't know anything about cattle!!! If it was a dead calf inside, it would have been in bits and pieces and soup, after not very long (a week?). Perhaps she just didn't cleanse?

Jean - I think if it had been another calf, your cow would have been poorly well before she died.

Clive - You've just me off soup for ever!!!
