After 2.5 years of keeping Dexters, just picked up my first slaughtered Dexter Beef fom the abattoir. She was a 37 month old heifer that was too flighty to breed from or sell. So as soon as she weaned her calf, off she went. 206 kg dead weight and not too fatty. I'm very pleased, My mouth was watering all the way home.

Colin - What does it taste like - or is that to come yet? Do a chilli con Carne using loads of mince....that's what got me hooked. The mince is from another planet.

Well we had a couple of rump steaks this evening which were delicious. Very tender for rump and juicy. I'll look forward to the chilli con carne.
