I have been offered a 9 month old calf but she is quite small for her age. She seems in proportion but I am worried she may not make the size for showing and worried her size might effect her later on for breeding?

Wondering if anyone out there can offer any advice - mainly as to what sort of show potential the heifer may turn into - will she be too small? And does anyone out there have a similar aged nice sized short heifer they could tell me the height at the rump for comparison - I would much appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

I know nothing about showing but this chart of growth rates based upon data from Wagra Dexters Australia might help. Please note that although the original data is accurate, the forecasts based upon them are assumptions and actual growth rates may differ for all sorts of reasons. Having said that, it has worked for me quite well. As it says on the lid, it's for non-carriers.
