Can anyone give me advice about keeping a bull in a field with a public footpath that never gets used.

I believe there are different rules for dairy and beef bulls. What is the duel purpose Dexter classed as.

Your comments will be gratefully recieved.

Dexter bulls are not classified as dairy and can be kept in fields with paths going through them, but I think the bull must have female company and you must be satisfied that the animal is not dangerous. I have a path that goes through half the fields on our farm and there is a bull in nearly every one. Can't remember the sign requirements, if any, but as Duncan says there was a topic on this about a year ago that went into quite a lot of depth.
