Have just reread this.My comment of "who said Dexter prices were on the floor",was a general comment and was certainly not made by Mr and Mrs Oliphant. As it is next to thier name,I wouldn't want to cause any confusion-or a libel case!!!

??? it was my first good look at dexters in the ring, and watching what the longhorns made for incalf cows with hiefers at foot the dexters in comparison i thought from my novice eye made good money! i had to leave at one point to stop myself bidding on the longs thinking the dexters wouldn't go for much and i might go home with several. how wrong i was. :D

Delighted to see these sort of prices at last, because I have been worried by the downward trend and apparent lack of buyers this year.
I don't normally sell much stock myself, but do help other sellers find good homes for their stock, but things have been very quiet in this neck of the woods.
Lets see what York sale brings.
Anyone looking for Dexters could have a very enjoyable trip up North. If anyone wants help finding a B&B, just email me.

Hmmm, given what my Dexters have been sold for this year (and the Shetlands) I'm thinking I must be doing something wrong. ( And don't anyone dare to say my stock has been sub-standard) Oh well, live and learn and congratulations to those who get it right.

I'll be signing off for good in the near future but before I do I'll provide some suggestions for not failing as miserably as I have. Hindsight is a marvellous thing.

I have been wanting to know how to post pictures for some time. This is a practice following Ann's instructions.
Our official show and sale in Northern Ireland was held at Gosford, Co Armagh on Saturday 6th September. There was a good turnout of Dexters. If this works I will try to post some more photos. Thought Lisa may be interested to note that this Dexter Ballydrumman Coco is decended directly down both sides of the pedigree via Pennielea from "Fat Annie"!
