Having just looked at the Melton Sale list for Dexters ?I noticed 2 of the bulls have had royalties retained- what exactly does this mean to the buyer? ???

I am one of those sellers and must have ticked a box on the form as i don't know what it means either! I have emailed Melton but they have yet to come back to me. I think that it is something to do with breeding but am not entirely sure.

I presumed that it was a reference to semen sales. When a bull has had semen collected the rights to the sales of semen already collected can be retained by the seller although the bull is sold.

Thanks, I thought it was something like that but just wanted to clarify it wasnt for any future semen colletion or sales of progeny

Yes, thanks Duncan. I had stated on my form that semen had not been collected so the royalty factor will not be relevant to my bull. Or rather i thought I had ticked the right box!
My oldest cow is going to a new home today so we are all quite excited but also a bit sad.
