i gave my cattle their BT injections six days before one of my cows gave birth,will the calf have immunity ?the second injection is due in 13 days time ,obviously the calf will only be two weeks old then ,too young to inject and i don't want to buy another bottle of vaccine .any ideas ? tim z

tim - I went to a BT forum at The Royal Show & I'm sure the vet said that calves don't get immunity from their dam. The earliest they could be vaccinated was one month old. Check with you vet just to make sure.

Tim - me again....when the time comes to vaccinate the calf, see if you can have some vaccine from a local farmer.

Our vet is taking names of people who only want a few doses of vaccine, then when they have enough for a whole bottle they break it up accordingly. If you asked I expect your vet would do the same.
