Had a telephone call from a friend to say quick put BBC2 on there are Dexters on the telly! It was in the programme Great British Menu.

By the time I got it on I missed most of it and only saw the meat, so was the rest of it any good?

They seemed to say that the lovely marbling in the beef was due to the excellent butcher hanging it for 3 weeks, did I hear that right - perhaps not?! Or maybe he moonlights as a magician.

Not entirely sure as I was just getting into the bath when the phone rang so it was a bit of a mad dash to the telly.

Did anyone see it? I'm not sure if it is possible to re see it on the internet and anyway I don't have speakers.

Stephanie?

No I missed it and cannot be bothered with the BBC iPlayer.

Off the BBC website http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/tv_and_radio/ ... hree.shtml

"It was time for the main event on Wednesday, the main course. Jason cooked Dexter beef sourced from Badger's Farm in Surrey, while Atul visited Richard Waller for an Aylesbury duck perfect for his pineapple sauce.

Jason Atherton's Dexter beef fillet, ox cheek, smoked potato purée and marrow bone"

Have a look at the great british menu website. The finals are this Friday and 50% of the vote is telephone vote from viewers and 50% from judges. We should all vote. Last Friday the judges said the beef was wonderful and one said that was the dish that was good enough for the Gherkin! If Jason does win then we will have to make sure he has enough fillet to serve at the Gherkin!!!
