Published Dexter Beef prices have risen quite considerably from suppliers this year and I have produced new average figures for anyone interested to view.
Fillet is now in excess of £30 and sirlion is into the £20's.
A download file can be found at www.DBOinfo.co.uk, go to "Downloads" and then click on the avg price link. If you get February prices, do a refresh and start again or email me for the file.

I think the prices can be slightly mis-leading as I dont think I could get that much for fillet down here. I ask £3/lb across the board and people pay no problem. Perhaps I should ask more but there is a fine line when you start to lose your customer base. Alison & Kirk what weight was the animal you have put on the board ( live guess!! and dead weight) if you dont mind also sex would be handy. OOOOOPS I mean of the animal :D

I should explain that the prices quoted are for well-finished beef that is butchered and packed to a very high standard, labelled, usually vacuum-packed, nicely labelled and well-presented etc, etc.
Going rate for boxes or whole carcasses (butchered into finished or primal chunks) seems to be about £8.00 - 8.50 per kilo as far as I can tell. I'm trying to work my way up to £9.00-£9.50 gradually.
Yes, regions will vary. I'm in Shropshire and to get good prices around here is hard because there's loads of farms who will sell cheap, and not many customers, so I don't sell in Shropshire much at all.
