Hi I thought I'd start a new topic, Beryl I'm certainly looking forward to visiting you herd, and mmeting lots of our west country members, and Duncan of course. Due to other commitments this will be the first time I have managed a visit to herds in the west country.
I hope some one is organizing a proper cream tea for us all :p :p

I am quite excited at the prospect. Unable to travel and visit myself, I was very grateful for Mervyn’s generous invitation to take part; and I am looking forward to being able to put faces to some of the names I know. Am nervous that folks will find my animals come up to scratch, and frantically hoping for a fine weekend, surely we are due for one. A word of warning, this is a very wet farm, remember to bring boots. If the weather is really foul I may decide to keep everything in. Looking forward to meeting you.
I also hope to attend, mainly to put faces to names already so familiar to me. After reading Beryl's book a couple of years ago, she is a lady that I have most wished to meet, and I hope that I can take advantage of this oportunity to do so.
Besides, I am a nosey old so and so and am always interested in how others do things and always look to see if there are some idea's that I can take back to my place to make things easier or better.

oh, cream teas....real clotted cream. No such thing in Canada There's just this bottled stuff labelled Devon Cream and although it's pretty good it's not the real thing. Some Canadian company thought they would try and get in on the act but they just took regular cream and thickened it up with guar gum or something and dumped a preservative in it for good measure. But I have had the real thing in Dorset so I am not fooled! :p
