Thank you Clive, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to your meadows, a very neat calf, and handsome dam.

But I don't think Steven Speilberg has much to worry about!

Bah, we're upping the anti are we? Now all I have to do is wait until the calves are doing something interesting [and slow] enough for me to film it :D
Who is the dam Clive?

The dam is Adforton Beaver and she has large Woodmagic content with a dusting of a few other herds in the more recent past. The calf will be keeping his bits & pieces because until further notice 'cause I like his phenotype (and he looks quite good as well).

Are the ropes a cunning catching device and get them used to leading?

yes, however the day my video expert took the shots I think they had all been trying to get rid of them. Its amazing how they learn to measure the length of the lead ropes and eventually just keep out of range when you try to put your foot on the end to catch them
:p :p

I am having a blissful time with all this latest technology; I loved the small calf Ann. I am afraid I cannot compete, but hope we may have good weather on the 14th October, and some of you will take the chance to see the Woodmagics in action.

DCS AGM is at Woolsery in Devon on Saturday 13th Oct, and on Sunday 14th several herd visits are planned, Woodmagic being one of them But it is a secret, don't tell Beryl.

The summer Bulletin should give more details, but Mervyn Mountjoy our President who is responsible for this years AGM, decide to organise an opportunity to look at other herds in the South West. The Templeton, Paxton and Woodmagic herds are being organised for visits on the day following the main event on Saturday 12th. I’m praying for better weather than I had at my own AGM, when it poured most of the day.

Ear tags and halter training too. Biosecurity will be strict.
Joking apart we should all arrive in clean boots and outer clothing in a clean vehicle for farm visits. Not because of foot and mouth, but lots of diseases can be carried both on to a farm during farm visits and off it as well. Probably preaching to the converted on this list, so don't take offence. It never ceases to amaze me how many will arrive at a farm visit in dirty boots etc. You should not go home to your own stock with dirty boots either of course.
How did we get here from "new calf video"? Sorry to digress.
