Can anyone recommend a foot trimmer? We live in Suffolk.

Hi John, welcome aboard. I have lived and kept cattle in Suffolk (West) for 19 years and my greatest problem with my few cattle is finding someone to trim their feet. Your best bet would probably be to talk to your vet. I wish you luck and if you find someone (who actually turns up!) please let me know. :D

Will give you a list of members of the national organisation, which appears to cover most of Britain.

Many thanks. I have contacted both my vet and the foot trimmers website and have another contact. Waiting for a reply from my telephone message.

Duncan Mac gave a demonstration of foot trimming on my old cow. She normally is very iffy with the whole process but is not a natural kicker ... Duncan roped her leg and she kicked and kicked to remove said rope. As his hands moved to & fro with the rope Duncan said "You just have to be a bit patient!" well, it worked. After a while she settled down and he got to work. She was left for a while and when DUncan returned to trim the other 3 feet, she was fine.
I believe that the normal foot trimming crushes tend to hoist the leg up too far and especially with an older cow, this is painful. Duncan has restored her faith in humans ...? Hmmmm possibly.
