Caroline has just phoned to tell me she got through to the next stage of the ITV audition with her Dexter Beef pie.
She said that all she had to do was mention it was made with Dexter Beef and John Burton-Race apparently went into a eulogy about Dexter and how is was the best there is and went on to list all the other breeds that couldn't match it.
Well what a day!

The next stage is in two weeks time in London. Caroline is through to that stage and will be spending the next 2 weeks perfecting Dexter Beef Pies, and of course I will be testing them out. I feel I must help.
She was interviewed by John Burton-Race, Ed Baines and Jilly Goolden, and was told that she had got through. The chefs wanted Dexter and said so. Caroline came out of the room and was interviewed again in front of a TV camera. She told the interviewer how pleased she was to get through, and then held the beef pie up to the camera and told them "Dexter Beef Pie, this is the best British Dish!".
The show is being televised in October.

Well done, well done how lucky Dexters are to have people like you to promote them.

The next stage was actually to provide precise details to ITV about the recipe and about Caroline. That was finalised yesterday and emailed to them. We will be "testing" another beef pie tonight. It's a good job we like Dexter beef!
The next stage in terms of an actual event, is in a few weeks' time in London.
