I am a virgin New Discussion Board user so please forgive any errors - if it ever goes out that is;it seems very Aldous Huxley!

Any road up on with the message. On June the sixth Northern Dexters will be having a Calf Show at 11.00 am at my place - Fenwick Hall Lawn Lane Fenwick Doncaster DN6 0HB,tel 01302701198,fax 01302708194,e-mail metcalfe@fenwickhall.fsnet.co.uk

This is a chance to educate and try your stock in a totally informal event where the only expectation is that most of us and our stock will look more than a little foolish!

There will be 3 Classes up to 18 months, entry £1 and there will be a small amount of prize money plus a Champion's trophy. There will be an experienced and hopefully patient judge.

Showing is vital for Dexters and we need strong classes so we very much hope this will provide people with the opportunity to dip their toes in the water without the intimidation of the Show Ring.

If you would like to come please let me know. The Farm is only 5 miles from the A1,8 miles from the M62,6 miles from the M18,and 18 miles from the M1 and 10 miles from the new Robin Hood Doncaster Airport!

One caveat you MUST bring passports with your animals or you will be rejected by the bouncers!

If you are reading this perhaps you could pass it on to your Regional Group as we want to see as many people as possible - the Yorkshire offcomeden policy will definitely be suspended that day!

Please come all are welcome.

Is the show open to none members of your group, can anyone bring a heifer or bull, is it ok if they have shown before?
I would have given it a go myself but it clashes with Rutland County show on the same day.
All the best anyway,
Mark

Hi Mark, thanks for the response. The show is open to all comers with heifers and bulls welcome regardless of previous experience.Basically it is the more the merrier.
I cant image why Rutland could be more attractive!!

Hi Rod, all being well I will be coming with dare I say it 3 calves, before I decide who I am bringing is the area escape proof, I think I would prefer not to repreat last years performance, :p :p :p

Also is it to arrive by 11am ? or are you intending to start the judging at this time

Cheers

Ann

Hi Ann, I think 11 am is on the farm with judging close behind.Steve Adcock has kindly agreed to judge.
Re security we will be in a new 5000 sq ft barn with gates strong enough for Charalais but probably not Dexters! Also the farm is at a dead end with the land in a ring fence so the guards on the perimeter will get all escapees! If it keeps raining, like Alcatras, they will also have to swim!!
Look forward to seeing you. Will give directions somehow later

I would have loved to come but couldn't - shearing and generally running around - how many made it and who won!
