I am about to sell a twelve month old calf. She is of good conformation, from a good line, well known locally in the midlands-but what price do I ask?She is more of a dairy form than beefy, but I struggle to fix a price. The sale is to a friend, and while I am anxious to give him a good deal,I'm trying to be sensible and remember all those cattle licks, feed bags and dehorning costs!Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Pauline,
have a look at the heifers for sale on this site, it will give you some ideas, but don't believe all of the animals for sale realise what their owners want.

If she is good looking animal with a good nature - ie the type you would breed from i would ask about £300.

I was thinking of about two hundred and fifty pounds,so I'm glad I asked. She is a gentle little lady, and I think she will have some great calves, butwill be more of a dairy cow than beef.
