Can anyone explain to me why it is that animals who are most likely to have 1 babe have 4 teats (cows, alpacas) and animals more likely to have twins, triplets or quads and upwards (sheep and goats) have 2. Seems perverse to me, has evolution screwed up?

One of our Lleyn's is with triplets at the moment and they're all going well so far (3 weeks). When they get bigger we'll have to take one off I suppose, don't know?

If you want sheep that don't eat trees (except very small ones), get Shropshire's. Christmas Tree growers use them a lot to keep the grass and weeds down between the trees. I don't know whether they are the only sheep that don't eat tress but they're the only ones I know of.

Looks like your bull, or that black blob whatever it is, is after those daffodils Stephanie.

I always give ivy after a difficult calving. Especially good for getting rid of a retained afterbirth. A sick cow often goes mad for it.
Dexters are great browsers and love to be in woodland.
