I forgot to sign off on the last one. I am a bit nervous about asking questions about our website, having expressed that it was not very easy to use, at the October AGM. The Chairman advised me to get a four year old to help!!

Hi Ian
The website is actually wide for whatever reason, so you see what I see as well but I can get it all on my screen.
There are a number of options.
(1) You buy a new computer!
(2) Fiona amends the website
(3) Depending upon your system and screen you may be able to increase the resolution on your monitor to get more on the screen but with everything being smaller, but if it's a flat screen I don't think this is possible, but I'm not sure. My screen is 1280 x 800, but 1024 x 640 or thereabouts normally covers everything.
You need the four year old for the latter. Changing your resolution can have some horrible results unless the four year old knows what she is doing. Your hardware manual or help menu may have details of what is available.

Now I'm no computer expert either - but I did discover the other day a little magnifying glass symbol and "100%" in the bottom right hand corner of the screen - which allows me to zoom in and out on websites - very handy for failing eyesight (as well as getting whole width on screen)

I have sent my return in by snail mail - this because I had notified the site re 3 deaths (abattoir!) and they still appeared on the list which came from the office so... perhaps the changes did not get through?? My final birth of '07 also was not on the list but as that was November it probably was too late.
Thanks Clive and Alison
1. It is a new computer or was at Christmas 2006. I suppose that makes it obsolete!
2. At the moment, with the amount Fiona has to do I would not dream of imposing.
3. My solution was - I tried to follow Alison's advise and took for a magnifyer. Went up to Tools and found "full screen" on the menu and clicked - only creating a different problem which the "4-year old" (plus 60) solved the next day. Four year old then discovered under "Page Menu" Zoom. Went down to Custom and set the DCS site to 92% and I can now read it without fiddling with scroll bars.
When "4-year old" gets the free bus pass soon and decides to go travelling then I'm in more trouble.

There is another great facility in Internet Explorer which most people don't seem to know about and is really useful. If you hit F11, you toggle between total full-screen mode and a normal window, and you can also hide the top bar by right-clicking on it and choosing hide (when in full-screen mode).
This means you get masses on the screen at the click of a single button and back again (F11). Really useful.
