I HAVE HAD A SHORT LEGGED BLACK BULL BORN A MONTH AGO

SHOULD I CASTERATE HIM OR ARE THEY GOOD FOR ONWARD SELLING AS A BULL

I don't know what its like in the UK, but in NZ its pretty hard to sell short-legged bulls. Unless they are from particularly good bloodlines.

There is little demand for short leg bulls over here. Folks, who breed to the short leg, mostly want a long leg bull to put over their short leg cows. Since 50% of all calves are bulls, it is evident that only those from a very desirable mating should be considered for breeding. My own view is that they cannot safely be used on a short leg cow, and I don’t believe they should be used to breed the deformity into the calves of non-carrier cows.
