Some users may not realise they can use the "search" button to look through all the posts for any particular word or subject. Click on the button beside the members and help buttons at the top of the page, and select the word you want to look for, go through all the options and choose "from the beginning" if you want to go right back, and a list of posts to look at will come up. If you search for warts at present it will list 7 different posts to look at.

Duncan, who has probably said too much about warts already!!

Thank you Duncan,

I will look through the posts and see if anyone has any light to shed on the rapidly increasing in size warts on my heifers mouth!

Hope they don't get too big in the meantime!

If anyone can help me out whilst I am searching, particularly to reassure me that they are not going to cause any lasting damage etc., then I would be very grateful.

Sorry to be a burden, someone who doesn't actually know a lot about Dexters, but I am doing the best I can, with help from the forum.
Cheers
Will set about searching now.
Cat.

Warts tend to be a temporary nuisance, but it is most unlikely that they will result in permanent damage to your heifer.

Please let us know how you find the "search" facility.

I have searched all the post on warts and I can't find an answer to my secific question so I hope no one will mind me posting it here!
I have a Heifer who has had warts all summer. They get big and then disapear so no problem except that she now has on about the size of a large sprout on one of her teats. I believe she is in calf and due the beginning of May and she is now letting our beef steer 'suckle' from her. can I put stockholme tar on it to stop him and am I right in thinking that so long as he goes to the butcher at the beginning of April when he will be 23 months old she won't have started filling with milk yet?
I don't have the facilities to keep them seperate all winter and don't really want him in the freezer yet. Can anyone help?

Issy you can buy anti sucking devices that fit on the steers nose and will make it very uncomfortable for who ever he tries to suckle from. I have not used them but understand they are very succesfull.
