Val,

Very sorry to hear about your loss. Should you finally discover what the problem was, please enlighten us all.
I would like to add to one of your points regarding the warts. I have an eighteen month old heifer, currently running with my bull, who has a number of warts.
I did consult my vet, who basically shared my opinion that they are juvenile warts that will probably drop off. For the record, she has four around her mouth, and a cluster on her dewlap. However, the ones around her mouth are getting progressively larger, and are showing no signs of getting rid of themselves. The cluster on her dewlap has shrunk considerably since the summer months and seems to be receding. Should I expect the ones around the mouth to do the same? Can anyone shed any light on this please??
Any and all information gratefully received.
Thanks. :)

Sorry to hear about your cows.

You've probably already considered this but wondered if the stream could be the reason (or carrier of the reason) for your cows' deaths?

Thanks everybody for help and suggestions. All remaining heifers fit and well. The Environment agency are now involved and testing the stream water for contamination......will keep you posted if any news
