I wonder if someone could advise me if a bull calf has an appendix C animal in its 4th Gen pedigree is it still eligble for the sceme.

The rules seem to keep getting changed all the time and with the currrent costs coming on board I'm not sure if I would bother again, to grade an animal up, but would like to keep my options open.

Hi Anne

I was under the impression that no appendix animal could be registered any more!

The bull in question has appendix C on his fourth generation on his dam's side

You will find most dexters have some appendix in their pedigree, infact I believe there is only something like 15 cows alive which are pure bred (no appendix in their pedigree's according to the current research, (but thats another story IMHO a waste of money)

Ann,
I think I am correct in saying that neither the dam or sire must be appendix animals if the bull calf is to be registered, not extended generations.
No doubt I will soon find out that I am wrong!
