North of England Dexter Group meeting Sat 12th October.
Meet at Teesdale Cheesemakers, Cafe Cheesedale, for refreshments/lunch. If at least 10 people are interested and contact me ASAP, as a group we can have a tutored cheesetasting with tea/coffee for lunch together with a talk on cheesemaking and the management of the 20 acre smallholding for £20/person. Followed by a visit to Jane & Alistair Hart's Fines-House Dexters, at the former home of Valerie Roberts' Vycanny Dexters. Sharing of memories/memorabilia of Valerie & Vycanny's, 1950's style herd management, how rare Dexters were then etc. Skeletons of Vycanny cows and their place in my thesis. How Jane & Alistair run their herd.
