Thinking of installing some kind of wireless cctv camera to be able to keep an eye on any calving cattle.
Has anyone done this or any recommendations. Would need around 30-50 metres range and be able to work through a steel sheet clad pole barn and house walls.
Any suggestions appreciated

Re: Calving camera
Yes, I bought one from Lidl cost me about £50. Had to leave very low level lighting on in the cattle building at night but did the job. The walls of our cottage are 3 feet thick but it didn't seem to affect the picture.

Re: Calving camera
Finally sorted with a camera, fitted an indoor wireless ip camera, with pan and tilt so can move to see the whole shed. got around the connection to computer with a pair of TP-link power line adapters. sends the signal through the mains electric back to the house.
Camera around £50 off amazon, adaptors £25 from Maplin.
should save a lot of visits outdoor overnight to check the stock when we start calving

The TP link adapters are amazing - wifi is possible anywhere on the yard now and it's saved us a small fortune, and given a much better signal than the mobile dongle set-up we had previously.
Re: Calving camera
quick update. two foscam indoor cameras mounted over cattle pens, connection by a tp link adaptor into the mains. nice to wake up at 2 in the morning and be able to just pick up mobile phone, connect to an app and look at the cows without having to get out of bed. from computer has 2 way sound so can go look at them in the evening and call for assistance as well
