I've just had a steer away for the first time in 5 years. Found this discussion helpful in pricing, also looking on supermarket shelves. I estimated he was worth £350 on the hoof at 18 months. I've sold out totally, made that, covered butcher's fee and travel and some over. Well worth doing compared to what he would have made in the ring at York sale.
Also been asked if I can supply one extended family with a whole beast next year, so that's one of this year's youngsters sorted for next Nov.
