Dingle Dexter Beef Company

Post by pudser »

Hi,

Steve Collins and myself have got together to develop and brand beef as Dingle Dexter Beef.We have purchased a bespoke Burger Bar which featured on national TV last evening in "Ear To the Ground" Ireland's answer to Countryfile(but better!)

I attach a link to the programme which I hope works. It has generated huge interest in the media

Enjoy

The link worked perfectly for me, well done Paddy, a good little bit of TV, and good to see the cattle on the hill.

Brilliant Paddy, very impressive! Dingle is one of my favourite places when I go on my holidays to Ireland, so this year I shall look out for those Dexters on the hills! :)

There's only one thing better than a Dexter burger, and that's a bigger Dexter burger :). Brilliant Paddy, absolutely brilliant. Love Dingle, used to go there on holidays years ago to watch the Irish Rally.

very well done on the TV programme. A great bit of advertising. Is their a group around Cork kerry that i could talk to . Have horses but want to put a few cattle with them, Dexters seem ideal, had Limousine heifers - murder almost literally.
Well done again

They appear to have an unusual way of growing feed for the dexters.

We looked into growing grass indoors quite seriously, but found lots of issues/problems. Came to the conclusion that it only makes sense in hot climates. If fed inside, I think cows would be extremely runny and make a hell of a mess. But very interesting nevertheless, and still keeping an eye on it for any progress / simplification of the process.

Our foot trimmer is an ex agricultural college lecturer, now a dairy consultant.

He has visited dairy farms in the middle east where cows are indoors and though grass is grown outdoors its all irrigated.

Quite a few cattle people, and horse folk too, have these feed units - and they are great - no wastage - you can use different grains to sprout.
Works well for the people that I know have them.
A lot of the racehorse trainers have them - saves giving horses grass pick, and they do relish the mats.
