When we were out and about yesterday there was someone with silage down - we are in Monmouthshire, I couldn't believe my eyes! Is there much going on around the country yet?

Re: Silage
I've heard of some taking silage but not seen it round here yet. Some in Devon I understand.
A few years ago a local farmer took a cut in February, yes I did say February. He mowed, they tedded and rowed it up. But the day he came to bale it, it all blew away on the wind, it was so thin .

Re: Silage
The last couple of years has taught everyone that they need to take advantage of every opportunity to make forage. Last year people were making silage well into October. This year, some grass is going to seed already, so if they can't graze it, they need to cut and conserve it, its too valuable to waste.
