Hello Sue,
does Bute count as Argyll? Don't tell any natives of Bute I said that.
There are a few breeders in Argyll but tend to keep fairly quiet. In fact the whole of Scotland tends to be fairly quiet at communicating with one another on Dexter matters, and I plead as guilty (or more) than most. The Scottish Dexter Group has always been a bit difficult to keep active due to distances. I thought an email group might encourage more communication and set one up but we don't use it much. You are welcome to join that goup if you like and maybe a new member could still up some activity. If you email me I can add you to the list, but the rules of yahoo groups mean that you should ask me to be added.

Hi June,
My son goes to university in Aberdeen so we do get over to your part of the world a couple of times a year.
We are off next week to look at a bull in Haltwhistle near Hadrian's Wall. Also spoke to a farm near Edinburgh with a bull for sale called Eric. Unfortunately they will be out of town next weekend so we can't look at him then.
My email address is balliemoresue@aol.com and Duncan is trying to help me get on the scottishdexters@yahoo.co.uk. I'm trying, but so far not much luck. I can read the postings but not add anything. Would love to hear from any Dexter people in Scotland. Take care,
Sue

Hello Sue,
We are another of those Island dwelling Dexter keepers - except we keep an even lower profile. We are on the Isle of Arran, only a few miles from Bute, but separated by two ferries and a good deal of Caledonian MacBrayne currency. We have been using commercial bulls for the last few years, but this year our own registered Dexter bull is going to do the job.
