You really need to be careful what you say on this site !! After my remark about farm visits and having to be quick if you wanted to see my cows Stephanie (Saffy) contacted me and she and her husband arrived on Sunday afternoon to see the animals and look round the farm. Despite being greeted by a sudden thunderstorm on arrival we managed a stroll round and the animals didn't behave too disgracefully.

Just what we are always being warned about, giving out address and other personal details to people met on the internet, but my husband thought that might relate more to porn sites rather than Dexter cattle forums.

Anyway, it was a very pleasant afternoon, thanks you two.

:) :)

Thanks for having us Sylvia we enjoyed our look about and meeting all the different animals, all of which were really friendly. A few of the pics are below for people to have a little look.

Sylvia I hope will explain who is who! :D

If there is a particular pic you would like me to put on Sylvia, just let me know.

I took lots inside and they are OK but not as nice as the outside ones it is a beautiful area.

I would have done a bit more judicious cropping Saffy !! :p

Ironic really that apart from Apollo (non-short, by the way) the animals which are getting all this publicity are the ones which were not wanted. The steers and an unregistered heifer are heading for the freezer. The red cow is a Dexter x Shorthorn and the red calf is hers (these 2 are spoken for). The black calf belongs to an unregistered short cow who would have gone to the January auction but she calved a few days before it. I am afraid I can see a problem looming here because I'm not sure what to do with her. If I keep the heifer as a companion for her where do I go from there?

Sylvia - Apollo looks like one of those rare short non-shorts in the photo.

Clive, the photo doesn't lie, his hooves are covered by straw but it isn't a foot deep and hiding a lot more leg. This is Vatch Apollo (I believe there is another Apollo around). I really rate this guy he has been a joy to have here. An easy to handle, easy calving lad he is 10 now but still turning out lots of lovely calves.

Stephanie, I look forward to getting the disc - I'm most impressed with your photographic skills.

Hello Stephanie CD arrived safely yesterday - I didn't collect the post until later. John particularly liked the one of the footballing rammylammy, but whatever you do don't stick that on here or we will both be banned for life :D
