Hello, Beryl. I do hope the fences are sorted out, and the rogue heifers back where they shoud be. Margaret.

Unfortunately not, from Rhinocerous’s view point, who couldnt go out with the cows, but had to be hurriedly pushed into the calving pen, out of the way of the heifers. The cows are still blissfully grazing the grass alongside the young heifer’s, instead of clearing up the remainder of stale silage.. Man proposes, cow imposes. Why the heifers should want to smash down the fence twice to get out onto the very bare cow pasture, only a Dexter heifer can tell me, since it was overnight, it was not to get to the bull who was confined indoors with the cows..

That is a mystery. I do hope the problem can be sorted out shortly, so that you don't have the worry.
We have one naughty girl, but she has good cause to be tempted, crawling up a creek bed to get into the oats, or under a hot wire to get into the round bales.
I can here the local farmers, "Get rid of her. She'll teach the rest of them." But...of course, she is the best heifer of the drop, so she knows we won't get rid of her.
